Charlie Appleby has his sights set on a victory in the Goffs Vincent O'Brien National Stakes, week, as he Guesses the unbeaten Pinatubo to Its Group One showpiece in the Curragh on Sunday.
The Shamardal colt has ever been a impressive performance from the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood and recently among the stars of this season including the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot, winning all four of his starts so far, in the division. Appleby struck 12 weeks ago - that a son of Dubawi, who himself won the race in 2004 for Godolphin. The Newmarket trainer told irishchampionsweekend.ie:"We are on course, all is well with Pinatubo and this race has always been our aim. "He has been satisfying us in the home and really the only issue could be if the earth were very analyzing, but he handled conditions fine at Goodwood and he must be all systems go for the Curragh. "He has the ideal profile to now be going into Group One company and, four , of course he's exciting. He's place on temperamentally plus it was pleasant to win on the race. We won it with Quorto and now (Godolphin) had won the race with his father , Dubawi." Opposition into the runner could include Ger Lyons' also-unbeaten Siskin, that had been last seen last month, winning the Keeneland Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh. Appleby added:"This really is going to be a race using two arousing colts as Ger Lyons' Siskin has seemed great and he will probably be more happy on an adequate surface even though he won testing floor last time. "It was wonderful to win this race last year and I'm really excited about it, using Pinatubo hopefully on route to the Dewhurst in Newmarket after it" Read more here: http://classicsounds.pl/?p=37398
