The Milwaukee Brewers impressed with this weekend and it may be exactly what they needed. They were champions in three out of four games against the Cubs to get right back to the postseason search. The NL Central is out of reach now, but they're back in the mix to get a wildcard. Arizona have emerged out of the blue to become the first team out from the National League. Behind them are the Brewers, who have a two-game shortage supporting the Cubs for the wildcard. That is achievable with a couple weeks left in the regular time. There's a great deal of baseball games in there, but they have quality competitions around them. The Brewers must concentrate on the Miami Marlins and can not concern themselves with the contest. The Brewers have been in Miami for the next four days and then off to St. Louis for a catchy matchup against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium. They have seven straight games after the show and end the regular season against the Rockies in Colorado. By that point, the Brewers have put themselves up with a chance to go to the Wild Card Game. On paper, the Marlins are going to function as the easiest opponent for the remainder of the season. The Marlins go into Monday with a list of 51-91. They put in an impressive display in the home as the seeing Royals were blown out by them . That's a look that is fantastic, but a more difficult opponent will be in town this week. The Brewers exchanged from the Pirates for Lyles and he's been one of their greatest pitchers in the rotation since. It was easy to see why most Brewer fans weren't too certain in Lyles. He came to Milwaukee with an ERA of 5.36 in 17 starts as a Pirate. The Brewers must have seen something which no one else did, because he has been casting like a completely different pitcher in Milwaukee. This is his second stint after part using the Brewers of 2010 with the Brewers. He posted a 3.31 ERA in 11 appearences using all the team then and is finding similar success now that he is back. Lyles enters Miami with an ERA of 2.56 in seven states which span across 38.2 innings. That's a substantial increase in the 5.36 ERA he had with all the Pirates. In his latest excursions, Lyles has been outstanding with a 1.53 ERA and 0.85 WHIP in his previous 17.1 innings on the hill. This was not creampuff competition. His work against the Marlins has been successful, as he's held them to a .234 typical with only 1 home run yielded in 64 at-bats. Robert Dugger will soon be producing his career tonight's fourth look. The potential has become adequate and has produced three starts for the Marlins. He got roughed up in his introduction, with 6 earned runs allowed in 5 innings against the Mets, but resigned in his next two trips. Dugger allowed two runs in the subsequent 13 innings as he started to get comfortable on the mound. I believe he's likely to keep the Marlins in this match though expect the Brewers to pull.
