Ben Sawyer, Trainer of the two-time Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) Champions Sydney Sixers, has been Named as the head coach of the Birmingham Women's team at The Hundred.
Sawyer, 40, is assistant trainer and a bowling specialist for its Australia women's team, and it has enjoyed a training profession with Sydney Sixers, having led them and winning the competition at 2016/17 and 2017/18. "Talking to gamers around the planet, The Hundred is a competition that they're talking about and want to get involved ," explained Sawyer. "I am very enthusiastic to be appointed as head coach of the Birmingham Women's team and I am excited about assembling a group that could combine international superstars with a lot of the local talent here in the West Midlands which has performed so well in the recent county women's T20." Craig Flindall, principal operating officer in Warwickshire CCC, stated:"Ben boasts excellent credentials as a head coach in the women's game, with all the best win percentage of any coach working in international T20s, the Kia Super League along with the WBBL.
