England all-rounder Ben Stokes and his mum have launched legal action against The Sun newspaper after it printed a story reporting on a family tragedy from over three decades ago. The cricketer lambasted the newspaper when it printedincredibly painful, sensitive and personal details around his family , condemning it asentirely disgusting. Proceedings at the High Court were registered on September 30, based on Byline Investigates, on News Group Newspapers (NGN) - The Suns parent company. The case is listed as an intellectual property claim linked to copyright. A representative of The Sun declined to comment. The narrative on September 17 worried a family catastrophe involving the 28-year-olds mom, Deborah Stokes. In a post on Twitter - that received tens of thousands of retweets, likes and supportive comments - Stokes reported a reporter was turned up at his parents home in New Zealandout of the blue to inquire them about the tragedy. The Sun replied that it had contacted Stokes prior to printing the report andat no point did their representatives ask us not to print the story.
