After suffering a cardiac arrest, former Pakistan leg-spinner Abdul Qadir has died aged 63. Legendary Australian leggie Shane Warne led the tributes to Qadir, who took 236 wickets to Pakistan in 67 Tests at an average of 32.81 at a career that spanned 1977 to 1990. That haul included characters of 9-56 from England in Lahore in 1987 - . "It's very unhappy," Warne told Sky Sports The Ashes,"therefore condolences to Abdul Qadir's family. "I had the chance to meet him in 1994 on my first excursion to Pakistan. I think a lot he was the guy who we looked up to in the eighties. He was the main leg-spinner in that age. "He had been a great bowler who adores a lot of batsmen. His album is a terrific one." Sky Sports commentator and former England captain David Gower added:"He had been a fantastic, colorful leggie. "I enjoyed playing him - partly the battle of playing with people of his ability. You would be bamboozled by abdul and he'd always ask you'have you chosen that the googly?' "He said he had a few of those at the least and if you played and missed at one you'd say'yes, sorry, so I just didn't play with it quite well'. "I'd run at him a few times too, just to attempt to set it back on him too. He had been just a lovely guy with a enormous quantity of skill so our condolences to close to him."
