Giro d'Italia champion, Richard Carapaz will combine Team Ineos by the onset of the 2020 season. The Ecuadorian adds to an already impressive stable of riders that contains Egan Bernal, Geraint Thomas and Tour de France winners Chris Froome and has agreed a three-year deal with the staff. Team main Sir Dave Brailsford - whose staff have won seven of the previous eight Tour de France titles - said:"He's obviously a great climber but also has good versatility as he revealed at the Giro earlier this past season. "He is still relatively young and I have no doubt that he can develop and improve even further at Team Ineos." This season, when he triumphed in the Giro carapaz became the first rider to acquire some Grand Tour. He explained:"I'm quite enthusiastic about joining the group. I think this is a excellent opportunity for me to continue my development and growth for a rider, working with a staff which continues to move from strength to strength, year after year. "I think I'll fit into this class race and well to my full potential within the next few years. I wish to attain some wonderful triumphs for Team Ineos." Meanwhile, tour winner Nairo Quintana is currently joining Arkea-Samsic on a thing.
