After a week off, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series is back in action as they put the pedal to the metal in Talladega Superspeedway for the GEICO 500.
When the Cup series was last in action, it was Martin Truex Jr. driving to victory lane at Richmond Raceway and he has chances of +800 to repeat, but it's Kyle Busch at +275 who is favored to win at Talladega. BetOnline has Busch at +275 followed by Kevin Harvick at +650, Joey Logano in +700, Brad Keselowski at +750, Martin Truex Jr. at +800, Denny Hamlin and Ryan Blaney in +1200, Chase Elliott in +1400, Kyle Larson at +2000 and Jimmie Johnson at +2200 to round out the top 10 drivers on the oddsboard. Standout Stats Ford has absolutely been notable at Talladega recently, winning 10 of the last 13 races there, including the last seven in a row. The pole sitter has only won once in the last 23 races here, but the winner has qualified in the top 10 in 12 of the last 18. Stay away from Kyle Busch this weekend. Although he is the points leader and contains a season-high few wins this season, Talladega has not been a track of achievement for its Nevada native. Busch won the spring race in 2008 and hasn't returned to victory lane since and he's finished outside the top 10 in seven of the previous nine runnings at the superspeedway. Joey Logano has been very competitive at the superspeedway recently, picking up three checkered flags within the last seven races, also contains five top-five endings over that span. Furthermore, he has directed 20 or more laps in Talladega in five of the past ten runnings. Brad Keselowski has been a hit-or-miss driver as soon as the Cup series heads to Talladega because he's won five of his 20 professional races there and has led laps in each of the last six runnings at the 2.66-mile track. But he has finished 15th or worse in seven of the last 12 races in the superspeedway as well. This week, kevin Harvick may have some worth. I've been staying away from this year as he has not been the driver that he had been last year, but he's still managed to amass two stage wins and has four top-five finishes. Harvick led a career-high 46 laps at Talladega last September and qualified on the pole in the April race. However, he has finished outside of the top 15 in five of the previous seven runnings in the superspeedway and has not driven to victory there because 2010. My Best Bet for your GEICO 500 Joey Logano +700 The Connecticut native has been awfully competitive this year, landing in the top 10 in six of the nine races thus far, including one trip to victory lane among five top-five finishes. Fords have been dominant at Talladega and Logano almost constantly finds himself leading the pack at some point during races at the superspeedway. Read more here: http://classicsounds.pl/?p=38423
