Following a week off, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series is back in action as they put the pedal to the metal at Talladega Superspeedway for the GEICO 500.

The pole sitter has only won once in the previous 23 races but the winner has qualified in the top 10 in 12 of the previous 18. Stay away from Kyle Busch this weekend. Although he is the points leader and contains a season-high three wins this season, Talladega has not been a path of achievement for the Nevada native. However, he's finished 15th or worse in seven of the past 12 races in the superspeedway also. Kevin Harvick might have some worth. I have been staying away from him this year as he has not been the driver he had been last year, but he has managed to amass two stage wins and contains four top-five finishes. Harvick led a career-high 46 laps at Talladega last September and qualified on the pole in the April race. But he's finished outside the top 15 in five of the previous seven runnings in the superspeedway and hasn't driven to victory there because 2010.
