Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph was helped off the field during Sundays loss to the visiting Baltimore Ravens after being knocked unconscious. At 7:26 of the quarter in Heinz Field, Rudolph scrambled to his left and also completed a move to James Washingtonwas sandwiched by Ravens defenders Brandon Carr from supporting and Earl Thomas in the front. It appeared Thomas struck Rudolph high, in his chin or head area. Thomas received a penalty. Rudolph appeared to shed consciousness in the strike, falling to the turf with no hammering himself and hitting his head. As the coaching staff along with team-mates crowded around him he remained motionless for many moments. Trainers eliminated the facemask of Rudolphs helmet and brought out a cart and stretcher, but was utilized, as he walked off the field that has a great deal of assistance. The Steelers reported Rudolph wouldnt go back to the game and had a concussion. He had been evaluated at Heinz Field, then moved into a hospital.
