An exciting 1 of the NFL regular season is in the books. Our focus now turns to a Thursday Night Football matchup. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers would be to take on the Panthers, a meeting of 2 NFC South squads that are currently looking to avoid falling in an 0-2 hole. Turnovers proved to be the undoing of the Buccaneers in their home loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Jameis Winston threw three selections on the afternoon, just two of which have been returned for TDs by the 49ers. As 1.5-point favorites in kickoff, Tampa Bay underperformed in the 14-point defeat. The Panthers opened the season in the home. They played host to the defending NFC champion Los Angeles Rams because 1.5-point underdogs. Carolina was enjoying catch-up daily, but they simply could not get over the hump and went on to drop a choice. The pressure is on both these clubs to prevent falling to 0-2 while early in the calendar year. Carolina is a home favorite that is hefty, therefore oddsmakers are visiting a big gap between the two squads. Let's take a good look at what must be an interesting Thursday night lean. Betting odds offered by: Sportsbetting.ag The game with the 49ers remained of the visitors holding a lead. San Francisco followed up with a Richard Sherman pick-six of the errant Winston pass and came out of the half using a TD drive. Another interception return sealed the deal although the gap would rather close and create a game of it. Carolina and Los Angeles were scoreless after the first quarter Sunday, but the Rams could have a second period to go into halftime. The teams would exchange scores while the gap closed at the fourth from a TD into 23-20 from Christian McCaffrey. The Rams responded quickly, as they fell 30-27 and a late TD from Carolina just wasn't enough. It was an offseason of change from Tampa Bay after the disappointment of last season. Bruce Arians is now to lead the way, and the hope is that he'll be the person to make the most of the potential of Winston. An improvement on defense is imperative, although there is talent to be found on each side of the globe. Former New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles is really on board as DC to see what he can perform. Carolina was 6-2 in the stage of 2018 and looking like a team which would be in the hunt for a playoff spot. That didn't happen. The group collapsed and dropped its second seven games in a row. A year ago, cam Newton was trashed, but fingers need to be pointed in a defense that folded as well. The jury remains out on the defense, although newton is reported to be great to go after offseason surgery. Winston started 11 games. He completed 64.9 percent of his moves 2,992 yards, 19 TDs and 14 chooses. Questions abound to the game match, although he has strong targets headed by Mike Evans. Progress over protection and the offensive line can heal a lot of Tampa Bay's ills. The crime did not get off to a fantastic start in the opening reduction, but also the defense held the 49ers. The simple fact that Newton was not right last year was clear. He retreated for 24 TDs vs 13 selections, but he did not really have accuracy or his normal zip. Spiritual McCaffrey functions as the swiss army knife of this offense, and there's talent. As with Tampa Bay, improved line play and a turnaround on defense would indicate a great deal for its 2019 edition of the Panthers. The teams split two meetings a year. Carolina picked up a 42-28 house win in Week 9 as 6.5-point favorites. Tampa Bay returned the favor in Week 13 with a 24-17 home win as 3.5-point underdogs. On an all-time foundation, the Panthers maintain a 23-14 edge on the Buccaneers. Last year, Tampa Bay was 7-7-2 against the spread and 9-7 on Feb. Carolina was 7-9 ATS and 8-8 on the Over/Under. The Buccaneers have been 3-3-2 ATS a season ago. The Panthers were 3-2 as home favorites in 2018. For the season thus far, both clubs have been 0-1 ATS. While Carolina is 1-0 tampa Bay is 0-1 on levels. NFL betting sites have installed Carolina as 6.5-point favorites for Thursday's match with a projected total of 50 points. The New Orleans Saints are preferred to win the NFC South. There is doubt that both the Buccaneers and Panthers could show some improvement, but the latter is usually viewed as being closer to a playoff place. The Arians age in Tampa Bay started off with a disappointment. While we can't overreact to the outcomes of one game, the worries about Winston becoming a viable franchise sign caller remain to linger following Sunday performance. The Panthers gave the defending NFC champs a run for their money, however, the most important thing is that a determination dropped on the home field. We do not find that occurring on Thursday. Carolina has to work with and is in greater form after Week 1. The spread is not the same issue, although we like them to win the match. A 6.5-point margin looks a bit steep for an early-season divisional rivalry game, particularly on a short week. We'll take Tampa Bay and also the things.
