Washington Redskins will look for another opinion. Guice will consult with Dr. James Andrews who's served as a member of the Redskins' medical staff and is currently well known to the 22-year-old, after a torn anterior cruciate ligament injury in 2018 which finished Guice's rookie season. Guice left the Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles after obtaining 18 yards on 10 carries, but when his knee failed to improve this week, Guice has chosen to find another opinion. It has been reported Andrews could trim the meniscus in Guice's right knee, also a surgical procedure using a recovery period of four to six weeks. Without Guice Adrian Peterson is expected to carry more of the load. He had been a scratch in Philadelphia a week, however, Redskins head coach Jay Gruden insisted he was convinced Peterson will be ready to perform his number is called. Washington's offensive line struggled against Philadelphia, but the Eagles have a unique front four and was clearly among seven defences last year to limit opponents to under 100 yards rushing per game (96.9).
