Jess Thirlby has named her first England squad as head coach for its Vitality Roses' excursion of Oceania. The group of 15 will journey to get a tournament that is behind-closed-doors later this month. Will train and play contrary to Australia's development team in Canberra before either side travel to Auckland to confront the New Zealand A side. "We have some brand new faces inside the Roses programme now and this is a terrific opportunity to expose these players to distinct styles of play and competition, whilst giving them the chance to learn from a few of their more experienced team-mates," explained Thirlby. "For example, Natalie and Fran who had the wonderful chance to compete at the Vitality Netball World Cup earlier this season. It is extremely exciting to be taking this group on visit to compete against the equivalent ability of the team. "I am very much looking forward to some very first international tour as head mentor of the Vitality Roses and can not wait to find what the future holds for this team." England have named their squad for its Europe Open, that sees them perform with Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Wales from September 27-29.
